The Empty Bowls Supper and Saber Showcase Champaign, Illinois

November 8 @ 5:30 pm 7:30 pm

The STM Art Club and the Art Department at the High School of St. Thomas More are SOUPER excited about sponsoring the Empty Bowls Supper and Saber Showcase to help raise funds for the needy in our community! For the 18th consecutive year the art students at STM are using their creative gifts to help the The Daily Bread Soup Kitchen in Champaign. The event will be held at STM on Friday, November 8th, 2024 from 5:30 to 7:30pm. We will be partnering with Culvers Restaurant on Marketview Dr. to bring participants a simple, but delicious meal, of soup and bread. Attendees will leave with a handmade ceramic bowl to remind them that there are always empty bowls in the world.

In addition to a fine meal, the Saber Showcase variety show will feature performances of music, drama, dance, poetry and even comedy! Other supporting participants include Holy Cross School, St. Matthews School, St. Thomas School Philo as well as many family members, teachers and friends that have come to make bowls.

The suggested donation for the bowl and meal is $15 for adults and $10 for students and children and for the meal alone is $5. Additional donations are always welcome and there will be a silent auction of various artworks. If you would like to make and reserve your own bowl you can come on Wednesdays from 3pm to 4pm during Art Club or to our bowl making nights that are scheduled from 4:00 pm until 7:30 pm on Sept. 25th, October 8th and October 23rd. Bring your friends and family! Please contact Deborrah Pagel at [email protected] or [email protected] if you plan to reserve a spot at a bowl making event.
