Exciting News!

Exciting news. We've talked about it on the air for the past few weeks and now, finally, we're ready to tell you what it is.

WBGL is adding seven frequencies to our listening family and, in the next few weeks, you will be able to drive from Chicago to Carbondale and hear WBGL the entire way. That's more than a five hour drive! You'll be able to find WBGL in metro St. Louis, too.

If you have listened to WBGL for any length of time, you know we've celebrated the growth of this ministry several times with the Prayer of Jabez. Here is what 1 Chronicles 4:10 says:

"Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, 'Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.'  And God granted his request."

Essentially, WBGL is joining forces with one of our sister stations, WIBI, so our territory is expanding big-time. WBGL currently reaches roughly 2.5 million people. The addition of WIBI's signals will add nearly 1.25 million more potential listeners, increasing WBGL's population service by 50%. WBGL will soon be able to be heard by nearly 4 million people.

There will be growing pains, and it will take time to make sure all of the technical aspects work, but we are incredibly excited about the future. We hope you'll pray for us during this time of transition and expansion. Thank you for being a friend of this radio ministry.

Jeff Scott, Station Manager

Questions & Answers

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

After many months of prayer, this is the direction where we felt God lead us. This transition will allow WBGL to have even stronger content on the air and continue to observe the best possible stewardship of our supporters' dollars.

IS WIBI GOING AWAY? ...DISSOLVING? ...CLOSING?

WIBI is becoming a part of WBGL and its sister station, WCIC. While you won't hear that name anymore, the entire WIBI listening area will still receive the same positive and uplifting music, on-air friends, and a continued dedication to "helping people connect with God".

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE WIBI STAFF?

Many of the on-air talent, support team, and personnel will transition into similar roles within WBGL and WCIC.
