Covered Bridge Festival Hospitality Tent (Fri. Oct 9, 2015 9:00 am - 3:00 pm)
Bridgeton Baptist Church will host a tent to sit and rest, eat a homemade cookie, and have a drink for free. No donations are accepted. This annual event runs Oct 9th - Oct. 18th. For more details please call.
Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch Event (Fri. Oct 9, 2015 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm)
The Mullen's Fall Festival and Pumpkin Patch will host a two day family friendly community event on Friday and Saturday, October 9th & 10th from 2-7pm each day at the Mullen Baptist Church, 675 County Road 150 N in Montrose. Admission is free. Mullins is located about 3 miles Northeast of Montrose, about 10 miles East of Effingham. For more details please call or go online.
Renewal Weekend (Fri. Oct 9, 2015 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm)
Aldersgate Ministries will lead a Renewal Weekend Friday-Sunday, October 9th-11th at Farmer City United Methodist Church, 101 S. William St in Farmer City. Friday begins with dinner at 6 pm. Saturday begins with breakfast at 10 am. Sunday concludes with worship service at 10:45 am. There is no cost to this event. For more information please call the church.
Abuse Support Group (Fri. Oct 9, 2015 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm)
Hope Recovery, a Christian based support group, will be hosting a group for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. The group meets for 6 weeks in person or online beginning October 17 or October 18 in Clinton IN. Location will be given upon online registration. Please go online for details.

Sarah Bush Lincoln and the Mattoon Area Family YMCA are hosting Paint the Town Pink 5K Color Run/Walk on Saturday, October 10th at 9am in Mattoon. Wade's 5K for 5P (Sat. Oct 10, 2015 8:30 am - 10:30 am)
Wade’s 5K for 5P will take place on Saturday, October 10th at 8:30am at Lodge Park in Monticello. The proceeds from this event will assist the 5P Minus Society in spreading awareness and education to affected families and their service providers. Locally, a portion of the proceeds will also assist children with ongoing therapy and educational needs as well as provide an avenue for families to connect and encourage other 5P- families. The 12th Annual Coat The Community Event on Saturday, October 10th from 9am-Noon at County Market, 2901 W. Kirby Ave in Champaign. Bring clean, gently used coats for donation. KOOP Cardboard Challenge will take place on Saturday, October 10th at 10am at Hessel Park in Champaign. Children and their families are welcome to participate in the Challenge to create. A Downton Abbey Tea will be presented on Saturday, October 10th at 1pm at the Country Club, 135 N. Country Club Rd in Decatur. The tea will be presented by P.E.O. Chapter BW. Immaculate Conception Church of Braidwood is holding our 2nd annual “A Nite at the Races” fundraising event on Saturday, October 10th at 6pm at Gardner American Legion Hall, 426 Industry Ave in Gardner. This year’s theme is ‘tailgating”. Tickets are $10 and available at the door. This event is not for children. Must be over 21 to attend.
