I'm an avid scrapbook-er - or should I say "was." I have 3 little ones that are all 2.5 years apart so my scrap booking time is extremely limited! However, I still wanted to be able to keep all those papers and drawings and fun things that my children made -- papers from church, encouraging notes from others, drawings, assignments done in school, etc. I devised a "box" system where now I don't have to feel bad about not scrap booking all those memories... I just put them in the specific child's box and worry about it later. Each child has a box with a lid (equivalent to a crate-size). I put in hanging file folders to separate out the time periods (birth, 1-2 years, preschool, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, etc). Any papers or memories that I feel necessary to keep goes in the corresponding folder of that child's "box". I can scrapbook it later or just give that child their box. It's perfect. It keeps things clutter free and is easy for organization. Sometimes I also take pictures of their drawings and upload them in my app called "Artkive" -- this allows you to categorize by child and grade and you can even have the drawings printed into a book down the road! Another way to keep my house clutter free without sacrificing memories!
