Removing Nail Polish

Category: Other

To remove dried on finger nail polish, ink, or other stains from cloths or carpet go to the local Dollar Tree and get a bottle of Awesome Orange. It only costs $1 (plus tax). Spray it on the stain let it sit for a minute. Scrub a little and the stain comes right out. I had a pair of pants that I got nail polish on, used finger nail polish remover and washed with no luck. My mom sprayed on some Awesome Orange and it came right out after being on there for 3 months.

Rummage Sale

Category: Other

All winter long as I take down things or clothes we no longer want or need I mark and price, then place them in a tote in my garage and then when time for a rummage comes half the work is already done.

Greeting Card

Category: Other

It seems like I am always needing a greeting card, not only for birthdays but also to let someone know that I am thinking of them, congratulations, thank yous, anniversaries, graduation, get well cards, sympathy, etc. So that I do not have to run out to the store every time I want to send a card, I keep a variety for each occasion (serious, funny, for children) in my desk drawer.

Plastic Table Cloths

Category: Other

I have for many years carried cheap plastic table clothes ($1 from the Dollar Tree) in the trunk of my car.
*They are put to many uses. My boys played football so on those muddy days after practice I would put them over the car seats and floor so they had a place to sit without getting the car dirty.
* On rainy days getting groceries you can through one over the cart so the groceries do not get all wet walking back to the car.,
* They have been used to put on the ground if you need to change a tire.
* Can be used as a rain cover.
* Cover the wind shield putting part in each end in the doors to cover the window to help keep ice from window.
The list can go on. so that is why I always keep 2-3 neatly tucked away in my truck of my car.

Saran Wrap

Category: Other

You know how Saran Wrap (or plastic wrap) sticks to itself as you take it off the roll and try to cover your plate or bowl? store it in your freezer and it won't stick to itself. And as you wrap it around your plate or bowl, the warmth from your hands heats the wrap up enough that it sticks.

Melted Wax

Category: Other

To get melted wax out of candle holders or jars, put them in the freezer overnight. Once it's frozen, the wax pops out in a perfect clump. No promises on ear wax though.

Car Tip

Category: Other

Keep a container of armour all wipes in the car so you can quickly dust the dash while waiting on a train or waiting to pick your child up from
school. While getting gas for your car, throw away garbage in the car. You will be able to do this if you sent the nozzle so it can operate hands free.

Stains

Category: Other

Those nasty stains that look like grease spots on our clothing when they come out of the dryer. I don't know where they come from, but I was discarding so many items of clothing because the spots would not come out and it ruined the clothes. One day i thought, if it looked like grease, maybe i will try Dawn, to get the grease out. So I did, i would just put some dish soap on the spot, let it sit a little bit and rewash it. IT WORKED!! I now keep a bottle of Dawn dish soap in my laundry room as well as under my kitchen sink, and i don't ruin anymore clothing.

Change of Clothes

Category: Other

Thanks to my mother in law I have this tip to share: Place a bag in your car with a change of clothes for everyone in your family (along with diapers, toiletries, shoes, etc)so that if one of your children or yourself has an accident or if you decide to spend the night somewhere or decide to hang out with the family after church you always have a change of clothes for all. This has come in handy for me since my hubby is soo spur of the moment :)

No Thanks

As the mother of 4 children, I definitely believe in this quote. Saying, no thank you, to some of the many things I am asked to volunteer for, absolutely simplifies my life.
