Frozen Meals

Category: Meals

I often freeze veggie soup or chili for fast and simple dinners on days that my family is busy. Me and my husband have 4 children. 3 are involved in sports, so one of them always has practice. So we are running here and there dropping off kids or picking them up. And then we go to 3 church services a week. So the frozen soup thing is great for my family. Just boil water in a pan and drop in the freezer bags of frozen soup and we got a simple fast dinner on a busy day..

Ground Beef

Category: Meals

Buy up about 6  lbs. ground beef. Make a quick meatloaf put in foil lined bread pan and freeze. The rest of the ground beef can be browned and put  in small freezer bags, (I use a food saver). When needed you"ll be step ahead for spaghetti sauce, tacos, hamburger helper or any other recipe that calls for ground beef. Once the meatloaf is froze you can wrap in the same foil and leave in freezer. When ready to use just put back in pan open foil and have a clean pan when through baking.

Cutting an onion with no more tears: Peel and cut the onion under cold running water.

Healthy Start

Category: Meals

For a simple, healthy start to the day, I put in a blender a little cranberry juice & unfiltered apple juice, ground flax seed, protein powder, & frozen fruit. I buy large bags of mixed fruit & mixed berries. It takes a few minutes & everyone has a fruit smoothie for breakfast. It is very filling, there is little cleanup & we all start our day with fruit.

Ready to go Dough

Category: Meals

I love making cookies for my family, but if I bake the whole batch they always end up stale. So when I make a batch, I bake one batch, then I use my cookie scoop and scoop the rest of the dough and put it in a Tupperware and put it in the fridge or the freezer. Then when I need more cookies they are ready to bake! ( no need to thaw the dough just place the scoops on the pan and bake!)

Boiling Water

Category: Meals

You know when you are boiling water for pasta, rice or anything, and it seems like it takes forever and of course you are in a hurry! Simple but it helps, just leave the lid on the pan and it will come to a boil much faster!

Butter

Category: Meals

Place a bit of butter when boiling potatoes, noodles, etc. It will keep
the pot from boiling over. My husband appreciates this, as he is the
one to always clean up my mess!! :)

Pizza Pizzazz

Category: Meals

I can sum up what made my life easier in 2012 in two words: Pizza Pizzazz. I work a lot of hours and have two teenage boys, and the Pizzazz is incredible. Not only do we cook pizza on it, we use it for chicken nuggets & patties, corn dogs, French fries and even make grilled cheese sandwiches!

Soft Cookies

Category: Meals

To make hard cookies soft and keep them soft I put a wet paper towel in the sealed up container with the cookies . They come out soft and remain soft , just re wet towel if it becomes dry that rarely happens because the cookies will be all gone due to being soft and tasting so good.

Cookies that Stick

Category: Meals

When baking cookies that tend to stick to the pan, use parchment paper on the cookie sheet before putting raw cookies on it. Perfect cookies every time, and no sticking. Can purchase this paper on the grocery shelf by waxed paper etc. No more burnt cookies or ruined cookie sheets.
