To unclog a drain without chemicals use 1/2 cup of baking soda in drain then add 1 cup of white vinegar. This is also good for slow drains. Flush with water when it stops bubbling.

Keep the garbage disposal smelling fresh by putting baking soda, ice, salt and a lemon in, then turn it on with low stream of water.

College life is great, but packing is hard. Before I leave home, I put all my shirts and jeans on hangers. I simply wrap them in my bed sheet, then they are all ready to hang up when I get to school. When I go home for a weekend, I take my dirty clothes out of my laundry basket, wrap them back up in my bed sheet, and wash them all at home. This also allows me to use my laundry basket for carrying other items I need, such as shoes, books, food, etc., which saves me from taking multiple trips from my dorm to my car.

As a mom with 3 kids I often feel overwhelmed by laundry. My tip is to put a laundry basket in everyone's room and do one persons laundry a day fold it and then return the basket. If the person is old enough instruct them to put away or I put it away that same day! It definitely takes the stress of washing 5+ loads at a time!

While raising 3 boys, I found myself constantly folding t-shirts & jeans. I started hanging them on hangers, and was fortunate to have enough hanging space in my laundry room for all the hanging clothes from each laundry session. The boys had to come & get their own laundry & hang it in their closets. Any clothes left in the laundry room became community property. It eliminated the fighting about someone wearing someone elses clothes. I also had a laundry basket for clean white socks, one for colored socks & one for underwear. The boys could take theirs to their rooms or just pick out of the baskets each day, sure saved me a lot of time sorting.

To get tough stains out of carpet squirt some Dawn dish soap and peroxide into a bucket of warm water and scrub. It takes the stain right out. Dawn dish soap is also great to use to clean other items around the house such as, shower floors, windows, eye glasses, pools, getting grease out of clothes or hair, and pets.

Use Avon skin so soft oil to remove tar & oil from tile or linoleum floors--put it on paper towel or rag, and wipe off the stain :)

Put ice cubes in your garbage disposal. It sharpens the blades and coagulates the grease and rinses it down the drain.

Using newspaper and your favorite window cleaner will leave your windows sparkly clean with no streaks.

Don't spend money on "Swiffer Sheets." Use your old Swiffer to dust mop floors and attack cobwebs using an old washcloths. Just spray a bit of water on it every now to grad the dust. Swiffer sheets get thrown away...just toss wash cloths in your wash. Save money!
