Oily Stains

Category: Housekeeping

Pre-treat oily stains on clothes with Dawn dish soap. Since it cleans up animals after an oil spill, I figured it could clean all the spills on my animals...I mean boys.

Clean a Little Each Day

Category: Housekeeping

To free up time for your weekend, clean a little bit of your house everyday. Clean the bathroom one day, vacuum one day, clean the kitchen one day, however it works best for you. It only takes a few minutes every day, and you have your whole weekend free to do whatever you want.

Using Coffee Grounds for Gardening

Category: Housekeeping

I love to grow plants. The simple trick to remember is to save your coffee grounds. When you go to plant your plants, mix in the coffee grounds with the soil. The plants love the caffeine! If you don't drink coffee, go to Starbucks - they give away their grounds. Also, once a week, save your coffee or tea with nothing in it and use it to water your plants. And a note about fennel - use fennel seeds with fish or in salads, it's great!

Keeping the Refrigerator Clean

Category: Housekeeping

The easiest way to keep your fridge from getting all dirty, sticky and nasty- Line each shelf with Press n Seal saran wrap, then when dirty just peel away the mess and start over! Saves so much time and energy!

Save Used Dryer Sheets

Category: Housekeeping

Saved used dryer sheets - they make great little scrubbers. I use them to clean the washer lid and inside the washer, and they are great for cleaning dried on/cooked on spills from your stove top, counter top, etc. No cleaner or water necessary.

Have Children Help

Category: Housekeeping

My trick is simple, if you are a mother with a load of housework simply have the children help in the chores. Reward them for their help; and all will be swell, not to mention you will get things done much faster and likely be amazed by what a strong worker your little one(s) can be.
