Pick Up

Category: Housekeeping

This is something my late grandmother taught me many years ago, she told me before I laid my head down every night to make sure my house was picked up. That does not mean dust, sweep, etc. that just meant to have things put up i.e. dishes put up clothes picked up, things put back where they belong. I have been following this for about 25 years and boy does it make a difference when you wake the next morning and the house is in order. It if you do it every night it only takes a few minutes. Worth trying. :)

Hot Bath

Category: Other

I'm exhausted and sore from reading how to organize, do laundry, clean house and be a better parent/grandparent. I think I'll just take a relaxing bath. While very warm bath water is running, pour in about a third of bottle of apple cider vinegar. Slip in, relax till water starts to cool. This will take away any sore muscles and clear your mind for thinking of more easy living tips! (of course, you will want to shower afterwards to get the vinegar smell off ) Enjoy !!

Socks in the Laundry

Category: Housekeeping

Hang a zip-washing machine bag in each person's closet and have them put all their socks in it. Simply wash the bag (socks included) and give each person back the clean bag to match themselves.

Storage for Plastic Bags

Category: Organization

Save an empty tissue box and use it to store plastic shopping bags.

Tithe

Category: Finances

Get a 3 ring binder, write down every bill, cancel whats not necessary. Cut fat out of bills. Tithe 10%. And God will provide money in different ways.

Lay Out Outfit

Category: Time Management

I lay my clothes the night before. It eliminates "the standing in front of the closet in a daze" every morning and the "I don't like the way I look in this so I have to find something else". It greatly speeds up the getting ready in the morning.

Flower Vase Uses

Category: Other

Most women receive flowers in their lifetime and later have empty flower vases. For those used single stem flower vases, cut or buy a few
pretty flowers and take in vase when visiting a sick friend or relative or someone in a nursing home. For the large vases - use for collecting pens and office supplies, etc. or as a centerpiece on the dining table holding napkins or silverware.

Burn Boxes

Category: Other

Don't throw the boxes from the Christmas presents in the trash. When criminals see what the boxes are, it helps them key in on what houses to break into. Instead, break the boxes down and take them to the dump or burn them.

Swiffer

Category: Housekeeping

One way to simplify is to use a Swiffer.  I clean houses and instead of using the wet wipes you put on the mop or sweeper, I use rags.  You can dust walls and ceilings.  When mopping fill the sink with the soapy water and dip a rag in it, then attach to Swiffer.  It works great and you can wash and reuse the rags.  This is a great money saving tip.

PB & J

Category: Meals

When my children were young and they would take their lunch to school, I would make their favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I learned a little trick to make sure the bread wouldn't get soggy from the p.b. and the jelly. I would lightly spread a thin layer of butter or margarine on the bread before putting either p.b. or jelly on it.The sandwich would stay fresh for them until time to eat at lunch. Now I have a new grandson and will do the same for him someday.
